You can decorate your properties yourself, or you can hire a decorator to do it!
Decorators can create a custom layout for your property, or you can purchase a pre-made one. Most decorators have a showroom you can visit where you can see previews of their layouts. Many decorators advertise in the Decorator Directory, which you can search by category or keyword, and see reviews of their work. You can also check out the VWW & Zaby Forum, where many designers post some of their best designs.
If you want to design your Zaby yourself, or even if you want to learn to become a professional designer, you will use the Design Tool called the “Prop Editor”. The Prop Editor can be accessed only when you are in property you own, or in property where the owner has assigned the necessary deco permissions to you.
To access the Prop Editor:
- Navigate to the property you want to decorate in the virtual world
- Click the drop-down menu button. It looks like a down-arrow and is located in the button menu in the upper-right corner, where your mini-avatar is
- Click Prop-Editor
From here, you can add props to your property and edit them, and add scripts and textures to the props. For more details on how to use the Prop Editor, visit the Basic Prop Editing article.
You can also edit the way the property's built-in surfaces look by using the World Texture Editor:
- Navigate to the property you want to decorate in the virtual world
- Click the drop-down menu button. It looks like a down-arrow and is located in the button menu in the upper-right corner, where your mini-avatar is
- Click World Texture Editor
From here you can select textures from the Texture Library. You can apply them to selected surfaces individually, or use the bucket fill tool to apply them to all matching textures. You can also resize, rotate, and re-position textures to get them exactly the way you want.
For a more in-depth look at editing built-in surfaces, visit the World Texture Editor help article.
